Anyone under 19 cannot legally sign an agreement. However, if the Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) agrees, the child’s guardian can make a binding agreement as long as the amount involved is $10,000 or less.
This rule does not apply to settlements for unliquidated damages (such as personal injury claims). For those, you must use the “Infant Settlement” submission type.
If you’re unsure if you should submit this type of the ‘Infant Settlement’ type, please contact our office.
